The Tularosa Basin Historical Society is a volunteer organization created in 1964 to preserve the history of the Tularosa Basin. The society publishes The Pioneer, a quarterly series of monographs about local history.

The Tularosa Basin covers about 6,500 sq. miles in southern New Mexico between the Sacremento, San Andres and Oscura mountains. Alamogordo, Tularosa, La Luz, Holloman AFB and many other communities are included in the basin.

Friends of the Alamogordo Public Library
The Friends of the Alamogordo Public Library is the publicity outlet for library-related activities such as library programs, National Library Week, and Banned Books Week. In conjunction with area libraries (e.g., Alamogordo Public Schools libraries, NMSBVI library, NMSU-A library, Tularosa Public Library, Mike Nivison Public Library in Cloudcroft), the Friends l use these alliances to run joint programs for the Alamogordo community

Flickinger Center for Performing Arts
Flickinger Center for Performing Arts is a 590-seat theater in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This is also the name of the nonprofit organization that operates the theater. The Flickinger Center put on a variety of entertainment, including concerts, plays, musicals, dance recitals, and beauty pageants, both by professional stage companies and by local amateur groups.
